Lars Callieou’s laughter-inducing journey has taken him to the Just for Laughs Festival in Montréal and earned him a 1-Hour comedy special currently airing on The Comedy Network. He has entertained the troops overseas an impressive five times from Kuwait and Iraq to Kyrgyzstan, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Turkey. His comedic repertoire extends to the airwaves, with appearances on CBC’s Laugh Out Loud, on Sirius/XM and in 2023 he was featured on a Just for Laughs Originals album recording. He has toured with such legends as Joan Rivers, Bob Saget and Jeff Foxworthy, showcasing his ability to hold his own in company of comedy royalty.
Lars made his first appearance this April at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in Australia and if you’re a fan of CBC he’s on the Debaters and CBC TV. He’s also appeared at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland, the Boston Comedy Festival, the World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas and the Halifax Comedy Festival in… well… Halifax. He was just the third Canadian in history to make the Finals of both the San Francisco and Seattle International Comedy Competitions and this past spring he Won ‘Best of the Fest’ at the San Luis Obispo Comedy Festival.
What has he done in the United States you ask? In America Lars was a Finalist in the Seattle International Comedy Competition, he’s traveled to IRAQ and Kuwait TWICE to entertain the service men and women and he’s appeared at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland, Boston Comedy Festival and played Brad Garrett’s comedy club at the Tropicana in Las Vegas. At the end of 2011, he toured with Miss Joan Rivers for a second time. She even requested him personally, “Get the funny Canadian kid again.”
